Travel Guidelines for Passengers “Arriving” in Australia:

All passengers travelling to, or transiting via Australia must present a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours before your travel to Australia.

Travel Update in a Glance:

Travellers including Australian citizens and permanent residents or their immediate family members, who have been in South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, or Malawi in the last 14 days must enter supervised quarantine for 14 days regardless of their vaccination status.

All Travellers except Australian citizens, permanent residents or their immediate family members who have been in South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, or Malawi in the last 14 days are not permitted to enter Australia even if they hold an eligible visa.

Please check the travel requirements in the state or territory of arrival, including quarantine and testing requirements because Governments keep changing travel restrictions at short notice.

PRE-DEPARTURE PCR TEST

Time for Test Result: within 24 hours

Required for: Pre-departure test, For Business Travel, For Medical, For MICE events or Group Bookings, For Training & Conferences.

Includes free fit-to-fly travel certificate

ON-ARRIVAL PCR TEST

Time for Test Result: within 24 hours

Required for: Post arrival test for Vaccinated and unvaccinated arrivals.

Includes free fit-to-fly travel certificate

RAPID ANTIGEN TEST

Time for Test Result: within 3 - 6 hours

Accepted for: Employment and Social gatherings

International Travel includes a free travel certificate

What are the Covid –19 travel restrictions in Australia?

Passenger Locator Form: All Travellers must complete the Australia Travel Declaration (ATD) before their flight to Australia. Please visit the official website for more information.

Covid-19 Testing Requirements: All passengers travelling to, or transiting through Australia must present a negative PCR test result taken within 3 days before their flight for Australia.  

Do children need to be tested? Children below 4 years are exempted from pre-departure testing.

Vaccination Requirements:
The Vaccine approved by Australia Government are:

  • AstraZeneca Vaxzevria
  • AstraZeneca COVISHIELD
  • Pfizer/Biontech Comirnaty
  • Moderna (Spikevax or Takeda)
  • Sinovac Coronavac
  • Bharat Covaxin
  • Sinopharm BBIBP-CorV (for ages 18-60 only)
  • Johnson & Johnson/Janssen-Cilag COVID Vaccine.

* Australians departing and returning Australia must provide an international COVID-19 vaccination certificate (ICVC) to airline staff at check-in for departure to and from Australia.
